Julie,
We just made it home. Chewy and Kobi never had a problem, and rode like pros. Chewy didn’t even act possessive when we let them run loose in Grant’s fenced in yard in Charlotte. I stopped and them every 90 minutes. I think that kept them from getting jumpy.  We stopped in Columbia and showed Kobi to Laura at Westcott.  Chewy enjoyed seeing her too. I know Chewy and Kobi will be best of friends.  When you get a chance send me a couple of the best shots of us.

Thanks for all your help!

Julie,
Laura, thought Kobi was a magnificent dog. She said she was so glad that Chewy had found a compatible buddy that I loved as well. Chewy and Laura had a fit over each other. All the staff there loved Chewy and had to take turns loving on him. We really never believed Chewy though for a second that he was being brought back. I think a dog can sense if you’re up to something.

Kobi and I went for a two mile walk early this morning and I introduced him to a few of the neighbors. He’s such a gentleman and calmed the apprehension of my elderly family right from the start. He has exceeded my every expectation and as we work together I know he’ll continue to develop in a positive direction.  He’s didn’t pay any attention to any of the neighbors dogs and we saw three deer on our walk this morning and he was on the leash but didn’t act interested at all.

I know there is no such as a perfect dog anymore than a perfect human however, it’s as if I placed an order and Kobi was made just for me. You do a really great job of matching companions.

My wife is outside playing tennis ball with him now. She told me this morning she got up last night after I went to bed and went out and checked on him in the garage. She discovered he really loves belly rubs! We’ll make some pictures soon and keep in touch with you.

You’re a blessing
Steve

Julie,
Here's some new pictures of Kobi. I'll seed some more in another note so I don't overload the file size. Kobi and I are building a bond that is strong as train smoke. He's my little buddy and everyday I look forward to another day of his companionship. Kobi is so smart and wants to do anything I will let him do. He loves riding the gators and today he rode the mower with me for several hours. He just leaned back between my legs, braced up and seemed to love every minute of it. I loved having him along and just being there.

I've been brushing him everyday after we walk in the mornings. His coat is really getting shinny and he loves the attention. My niece gave me a Chuck-it ball thrower and my wife and I both use it to give Kobi his play times. He will bring one of us his ball when he wants to play. We've really enjoyed the pretty weather lately but we walk rain or shine.

We really got us a Christmas dog! Hope all is good with you two and Holiday Blessings to you and yours!
Hugs from Steve and Kobi!

More pictures coming!
Julie,
Just wanted you to know that Kobi is now a certified therapy dog. His vet suggested he had the potential and hooked me up with the SPCA Therapy Dog program director. We now volunteer and go to area nursing homes and a elementary schools on a rotating weekly basis and bring big smiles. Kobi is really good with kids and the elderly. This is something we both look forward to each week. Kobi is doing great and making new friends every day. He's been a real blessing and companion!!!!!
Julie,
Here's a few pictures of Kobi with some 1st graders. He does Education and Therapy volunteer work with the local SPCA. He really enjoys the contact and attention. We love seeing people smile young and old. This is a very rewarding way to promote respect and understanding of the German Sheperd Breed. Many people are amazed to see that big dogs can have big hearts and not to just snap to judge and fear based on size.  Like people dogs have unique personalities and Kobi is a very special loving and gentle sprit that is perfect for this work.
Love and thanks!
Here's a couple of more pictures of Kobi doing his visits. These were made at the Adult Day Care in Martinsville Va. this week.
