Julie -

We made home. The A/C in my car finally gave up the ghost just before Columbia.

Thank you so much for allowing us to adopt Sammie. He is a sweet boy. He was great on the ride home. We gave him a bath as soon as we got in......which he wasn't too happy about.

He is a talker like our Kobe was. He's climbed up in my lap 3 times already this evening. What a goofy boy.

We went out and got him a few toys and some food. He was really hungry. After frantically surveying the house for a while, he decided to lay down on the rug between our feet and is now sound asleep. We'll keep you updated on how he's doing on a regular basis. He sends his love and kisses and thanks you for all you did for him.

We are going to apply some Advantage and give him his Interceptor before bed tonite.

Thanks again and Thanks for all you do for the Breed!
Hi Julie -

I just wanted to give you an update.  Sammy (we think we are going to change his name to Boaz or "Bo" for short) has been just perfect.  He is house trained (nothing that we did, he just knew where to go and where not to go) and has not had one accident in the house.  He already knows his way around the house and that there are good things in the refrigerator and knows exactly which cabinet his food is in.  He knows that I get home around 6 every evening and starts watching out the back window at around 5.  He knows my car and is at the back door (in another room) by the time I get to the door.

He's been exposed to other dogs and strangers on our walks and has done beautifully.  No aggression at all.

We have discovered that he does indeed like the tennis ball.  Like most shepherds once he figured out how much fun it was for Dad to throw the ball so he could chase it, it's been "all about the ball".  It doesn't hurt that it squeaks when he bites it.  He loves that!

Any how, it could not have been a better first week with him.

Thank you again for allowing us to have him.
